FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven will host a Coaches vs. Cancer men's basketball game Saturday at 1 p.m. against Dallas College Mountain View.

Supporters can contribute to Brookhaven's Coaches vs. Cancer fund

The event is in conjunction with the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the American Cancer Society.

"I'm excited to have our school participate in Coaches vs. Cancer," Brookhaven Athletic Director Danielle Johnson said. "This event is more than just a game, it's an opportunity to come together in the fight against cancer. It's important to show support for those who have battled, are currently fighting, or have lost loved ones to this disease. Through fundraising and awareness, we can make a meaningful impact. I'm proud we are coming together to donate to American Cancer Society, and support such a vital cause."

Brookhaven (7-17, 4-5 Dallas Athletic Conference) has a one-game lead on Dallas College Mountain View (10-14, 3-6) in the league standings.

The Bears fell to the Lions, 82-80, in the first of three meetings between the two teams this season.

The regular season runs through Feb. 22 when the two teams will play again at Mountain View.
