Bio

Danielle Johnson was named athletic director at Dallas College Brookhaven in August 2023.

In her first year at Brookhaven, the Bears women's soccer team captured the 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III National Championship. 

Johnson previously served as the athletic coordinator from the International Leadership of Texas Garland. She was an assistant women’s basketball coach at Allen Community College in Kansas. She also coached at Wright State University-Lake Campus in Ohio, the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Oakland Community College in Michigan.

Johnson takes over for Jones, who served as the interim athletic director for the past two years.

In 2014-15, Johnson led St. Clair Shores (Mich.) South Lake High School girls basketball team to an undefeated conference record, winning the Macomb Area Conference Silver Division title. She earned Coach of the Year honors in the MAC Silver Division and Macomb County. She won the conference championship in two of the four years she coached the Cavaliers. Johnson coached girls basketball at Ecorse High School in Michigan, winning the league in 2003.

A Detroit native, Johnson played for Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she won back-to-back Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference titles as a freshman and sophomore. She later played semi-professional basketball in 2000.

Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in communication at Aquinas College. She received a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Concordia University.
