Flores, Antovoni Named First Team All-Americans, Carlson Second Team
NJCAA DIII WOMEN'S SOCCER ALL-AMERICANS
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Brookhaven women's soccer's Brianna Flores and Gianna Antovoni were named National Junior College Athletic Association Division III First Team All-Americans.
Bears teammate Kate Carlson was a Second Team All-America selection.
A freshman goalkeeper from McKinney, Texas, Flores was voted the DAC Goalkeeper of the Year, while earning First Team All-DAC recognition. Flores went 13-3-3 with 10 shutouts, a 0.74 goals against average and .813 save percentage. She stopped a season-high 11 shots against Holmes Community College, and made eight saves in a 1-0 shutout of NJCAA Division III South District and DAC runner-up Dallas College Richland.
A freshman forward also from McKinney, Antovoni was chosen as the DAC Most Valuable Player. She was also a First Team All-DAC selection. She had a team-leading nine goals, nine assists and 27 points. Antovoni scored a gamewinning goal in a shutout win over Dallas College Eastfield, and had a pair of assists against Dallas College Mountain View. She had a season-high two goals in another victory over Eastfield during a stretch in which she scored in three straight matches, and recorded a point in eight of nine.
A freshman midfielder from Lucas, Texas, Carlson was a First Team All-DAC choice. She scored six goals, including two game winners. Carlson had two goals in the postseason win over Eastfield, while scoring in both South District victories.
