Porto, Flores Collect Final DAC Players of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven's Daniela Porto and Brianna Flores received the final Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Players of the Week.
Porto was named the DAC Player of the Week, while Flores earned the league's Goalkeeper of the Week. It is the third straight week Flores collected the honor.
A freshman forward from Merida, Venezuela, Porto scored the lone goal in the No. 2 Bears' 1-0 win over No. 7 Dallas College Richland to clinch their eighth straight conference championship. It was her first gamewinning goal of the year. It was also the third straight game she scored a goal. She also has two assists during that three-game span.
Porto has three goals and five assists for 11 points entering this week's postseason play.
A freshman goalie from McKinney, Texas, Flores stopped all seven shots she faced in the victory over Richland. It was her fifth consecutive shutout and eighth overall this season.
Flores ranks tied for first in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III in shutouts, is tied for second in wins (9) and sixth in goals against average (0.64).
Brookhaven finished the regular season with a 9-2-3 overall, 7-0-3 DAC record. The Bears will host the NJCAA Division III South District Tournament Tuesday-Saturday. Brookhaven received a quarterfinal bye, and will play the lowest remaining seed in Thursday's 4 p.m. semifinals.
