Bears Sweep DAC Player of Week Honors

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven's Kaley Robison and Sayer Taylor were named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Players of the Week.

Taylor collected the league's Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Robison was named the DAC Defensive Player of the Week.

A freshman from Frisco, Texas, Taylor scored two goals in her college debut as No. 1 Brookhaven beat National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Blinn College, 3-2. Her rocket from 30 yards out sailed underneath the crossbar, and gave the Bears a 2-1 lead, completing her brace. She scored her first goal in the 38th minute, knocking home a setup from Whitni Newbill on a composed run toward the goal.

A sophomore from Argyle, Texas, Robison helped keep an attacking Blinn team off bay. After making a position change to a central defender, she excelled in her first game. Robison also banged home the gamewinning goal off a free kick from 45 yards out in the 77th minute to break a 2-2 tie.

Brookhaven will play an exhibition game at the University of Texas at Dallas 7 p.m. Friday. That game can be followed via LIVE STATS.
