Women's Soccer Wraps up Regular Season with Win

Dallas College Brookhaven's Kenya Reynolds had a hat trick in the No. 1-ranked Bears 9-0 win over Dallas College Eastfield Tuesday.

Dallas College Brookhaven women's soccer team shut out Dallas College Eastfield, 9-0, Tuesday on Sophomore Night.

The No. 1 nationally-ranked Bears have allowed just two goals this season, and not one since settling on a 1-1 tie with Dallas College Richland the first time the two teams met.

Brookhaven (11-0-1, 9-0-1 Dallas Athletic Conference) wrapped up the No. 1 seed to the league postseason tournament. The Bears will host the three-day tournament, beginning next Thursday.

Kenya Reynolds scored on all three shots she attempted, and the Bears outshot the Harvester Bees, 31-0. Alexa Bezpalko's gamewinner came in the 30th minute on assists from Whitni Newbill and Ivelyn Jimenez. Reynolds followed that up with a pair of goals within a two-minute span in the closing four minutes of the first half. Kaley Robison and Isis Balderas drew assists.

Brookhaven attempted 14 shots in the first half.

Bezpalko, Balderas and Natalie Lopez each scored within a four-minute span five minutes in to the second half. Newbill, Meleni Lorenzo and Reynolds filled the stat sheet with goals of their own.

Nevaeh Higgins had two assists, as did Newbill, Robison and Balderas. Allyson Kolba assisted on Bezpalko's second goal.

The Bears forced Eastfield to stop five of their 14 shots on goal.
