Lady Bears Clinch Third NJCAA DIII Women’s Soccer Championship

The Brookhaven Lady Bears cliched their third NJCAA DIII Women's Soccer Championship in five years.  The Lady Bears defeated #1 seed Delta College to become national champions, and to end a 30-game winning streak by Delta College.  Brookhaven was led by captains Lilee "Pop-it" Simpson and Adriana Padilla, who dominated on the defensive end with skill and determination.  Third captain Italia Avila also put on a solid display in the midfield and set up many great attacks  for The Lady Bears.  Tournament MVP Johana Rodriguez led the way for Brookhaven scoring 4 goals during the tournament, including the 2 goals she scored in the championship game.

Along with a championship trophy, The Lady Bears took home several accolades: Tournament MVP Johana Rodriguez, Defensive MVP Lilee Simpson,  and Coach Jimmy Elder received the honor of Coach  of the tournament.  Abigail Gutierrez, Payton Taylor, and Keyla Quiroz were also elected to the All- Tournament Team.  Congratulations to The Dallas College Brookhaven Lady Bears Women's Soccer team and coaching staff on an incredible season.
