Brookhaven Gets Past Cedar Valley, 91-86

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven men's basketball team beat Dallas College Cedar Valley, 91-86, Monday in Dallas Athletic Conference action.

The game was made up from last week's postponements due to the winter storm in the Dallas Metroplex area.

Brookhaven (8-12, 3-1 DAC) shot 58 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three-point range. The Bears sank 26 of 33 free throws. Cedar Valley (10-12, 1-3) shot 41 percent from the field, but just 18.8 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. The Suns went 23-for-35 from the free throw stripe.

Brookhaven's Jackson Lino was one of four players in double figures. He had 23 points, going 5 of 8 from the floor and 13-for-13 from the free throw line, and added five rebounds, two steals and a block.  Aaron Ovalle scored 18 points on 6 of 10 shooting, including 4 of 7 from long range, and had six assists and three steals. Curtis Trey Moffett had 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block. Ryan Nurenberg finished with 12 points, five assists and four rebounds. Andre Mancilla had nine points and four rebounds. Dirk Falkenhagen hit all four field goals he attempted, finishing with eight points.

Cedar Valley's Antonio Freeman scored a game-high 26 points on 9 of 14 shooting. He was 7 of 11 from the charity stripe, and had five rebounds and two steals. Alonnie Carter finished with 19 points on 7 of 14 shooting, six rebounds – all on the offensive glass – and two steals. He went 5-for-6 from the free throw line. Keshon Kittrell had 15 points and eight boards.

Brookhaven plays at Dallas College Mountain View 6 p.m. Wednesday. Cedar Valley hosts Dallas College North Lake Wednesday.
