Brady Named Brookhaven Esports Coach
Grant Brady was named Head Esports Coach at Dallas College Brookhaven.
Brady served as the Assistant Director of Esports at Texas Wesleyan University, where he coached Valorant and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate in the National Association of Collegiate Esports Starleague. Prior to Texas Wesleyan, he co-founded the esports program at Abilene Christian University, where he was the captain of the varsity League of Legends team.
At Brookhaven, he plans to specialize in League of Legends and Super Smash Brothers titles, and may expand the program based on student gaming interests.
"The goals for Brookhaven's esports program is to establish a culture that welcomes and invites people from all over campus," Brady said. "The goal is to find students' strengths, and lean into those so students feel empowered and earn valuable life skills, while also aiming for the highest level of competition under the NJCAA."
Brookhaven and Dallas College will enter its third academic year offering esports. Students can attend any Dallas College campus, and compete in esports on any of the seven campuses if they enroll in at least 12 credit hours each semester, and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.
