Bears Roll by Western Texas College, 4-1

SNYDER, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven beat Western Texas College, 4-1, Tuesday in the final tuneup before conference play begins.

The National Junior College Athletic Association Division III top-ranked Bears scored three second half goals to break a 1-1 tie.

Gracie Murillo's goal two minutes into the second half put Brookhaven ahead for good. Elyana Martinez assisted on the goal.

Mariah Lewis added an unassisted goal two minutes later to extend the lead to 3-1. Amanda Rocha tacked on another goal in the 83rd minute on a setup from Gianna Antovoni.

Kate Carlson notched the Bears' first goal in the 22nd minute. Western Texas College's Lisset Onofre tied the game in the 35th minute.

Brookhaven goalkeeper Brianna Flores stopped five shots in picking up her second win. WTC keeper Karmen Coronado had four saves.

Brookhaven (2-2-0) will open Dallas Athletic Conference action at 4 p.m. Friday at Dallas College North Lake (2-2-1).
